Trade and Industry

Private business in Nynäshamn displays great variety. There are over 2000 companies in the municipality, most of them one-man businesses.

Nynas, which was established in 1928 (Nynäs Petroleum), is one of the large companies which now mainly produces bitumen and oils for special purposes.

In connection to the refinery area, Statoil produces lubricating oils. Among the new, big and expansive companies, Teligent works in the telecommunication context.

Variation in trade and industry can also be described in words such as tradition versus modern technology. From ecological farming and smithies to state-of-the-art companies in telecommunication and computers.

There is industrial land available in three different parts of the municipality, in Nynäshamn, Ösmo and Sorunda.
